Correction and Retraction

Jurnal Bisnis dan Kewirausahaan (JBK) is committed to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and transparency of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, the journal will take appropriate actions in accordance with recognized publication ethics standards.

1. Corrections (Erratum and Corrigendum)

Corrections may be issued when minor errors are identified in a published article that do not affect the overall results, interpretation, or conclusions.

Types of corrections include:

  • Erratum: Issued for errors introduced during the editorial or production process.
  • Corrigendum: Issued for errors made by the author(s).

Examples of correctable issues include:

  • Typographical errors
  • Author affiliation inaccuracies
  • Minor data or formatting issues

A correction notice will be published and linked to the original article to ensure transparency and proper documentation.

2. Retraction

An article may be retracted if there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable or violate publication ethics.

Grounds for retraction include:

  • Plagiarism
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Duplicate publication
  • Major methodological errors affecting conclusions
  • Ethical violations in research or authorship
  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest

The retraction notice will:

  • Clearly state the reason for retraction
  • Be permanently linked to the original article
  • Maintain the original article online with a “Retracted” status to preserve the academic record

3. Article Removal (Exceptional Cases)

In rare circumstances, an article may be removed if it:

  • Contains defamatory or unlawful content
  • Violates legal rights or privacy
  • Is subject to a legal order

In such cases, the article will be replaced with a removal notice explaining the reason.

4. Expression of Concern

The Editor-in-Chief may issue an Expression of Concern if:

  • There is suspicion of research or publication misconduct
  • An investigation is ongoing
  • Conclusive evidence is not yet available

This notice will remain linked to the article until a final decision is reached.

5. Author Responsibility

Authors are expected to promptly notify the editorial office if they discover significant errors or inaccuracies in their published work. The journal will evaluate the case and determine the appropriate course of action.

6. Editorial Decision

All decisions regarding corrections, retractions, or other updates are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on available evidence, ethical considerations, and, when necessary, consultation with reviewers or relevant institutions.
