Plagiarism Policy
International Journal Business and Entrepreneurship (IJBAE) is committed to ensuring the originality and integrity of all submitted manuscripts. The journal strictly prohibits plagiarism in any form and applies systematic screening procedures to maintain high academic standards.
1. Plagiarism Screening
All submitted manuscripts are checked using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin) before being sent for peer review. This screening is conducted during the initial editorial assessment.
2. Similarity Threshold
IJBAE applies the following similarity tolerance criteria:
- Maximum similarity index: less than 20% (overall)
- Individual source similarity should not dominate the manuscript content
Manuscripts exceeding the acceptable similarity threshold may be:
- Returned to authors for revision, or
- Rejected at the editorial screening stage, depending on the severity.
3. AI-Generated Content Detection
In addition to plagiarism screening, manuscripts may be evaluated using AI content detection tools to assess the level of AI-assisted writing.
Maximum acceptable AI-detected content: 30%
Authors are expected to use AI tools responsibly and must ensure that all submitted work reflects original academic thinking, proper analysis, and human intellectual contribution.
4. Forms of Plagiarism Considered Misconduct
The journal considers the following as unethical practices:
- Direct copying without citation
- Paraphrasing without proper attribution
- Self-plagiarism (reusing previously published work without acknowledgment)
- Submitting work taken from other sources
- Excessive reliance on AI-generated text without proper academic validation
5. Editorial Actions
If plagiarism is detected, IJBAE may take the following actions:
- Request revision and resubmission
- Reject the manuscript
- Retract the published article (if discovered after publication)
- Notify the author’s institution if serious misconduct is confirmed
6. Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their submitted manuscript is original, properly cited, and free from plagiarism. All sources must be acknowledged using appropriate academic referencing.
By submitting to IJBAE, authors agree to comply with this plagiarism policy and accept editorial decisions based on the screening results.
