GenAI Policy

Generative AI (GenAI) Usage Policy
International Journal Business and Entrepreneurship (IJBAE)

In line with the advancement of artificial intelligence technologies, particularly Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), the International Journal Business and Entrepreneurship (IJBAE) establishes the following policy to ensure integrity, transparency, and ethics throughout the writing, peer review, and publication process.

1. Use of GenAI in Manuscript Preparation

Authors are permitted to use GenAI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Claude, etc.) as assistance in the manuscript preparation process for purposes such as:

  • Idea formulation,

  • Refining sentence structures,

  • Translation assistance,

  • Drafting summaries,

  • Improving grammar.

However, all content generated with GenAI must be verified and edited by human authors. Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity of the content.

2. Disclosure Requirement

If GenAI tools are used during manuscript preparation, authors must explicitly disclose this in the "Acknowledgements" or "Author Contributions" section by specifying:

  • The name of the GenAI tool used,

  • The purpose of its use,

  • The scope of assistance provided.

Example statement:

"The authors used ChatGPT (OpenAI) to assist in refining sentence structure and grammar in the early draft of this manuscript. All content has been reviewed and edited by the authors."

3. GenAI Tools Cannot Be Credited as Authors

In accordance with international publishing guidelines, GenAI tools cannot be credited as authors since they cannot take responsibility for academic content, hold institutional affiliations, or agree to publication ethics.

4. Use of GenAI in Peer Review Process

The use of GenAI by editors or reviewers during the peer review process is not allowed, unless explicitly approved by the Editor-in-Chief and conducted under strict supervision. This is to maintain the confidentiality and objectivity of the review process.

5. Policy Violations

Failure to comply with this policy, including nondisclosure of GenAI use, may constitute an ethical violation and could result in:

  • Manuscript rejection,

  • Retraction of published articles,

  • Notification of the authors' affiliated institutions.

6. Periodic Review

This policy will be reviewed and updated periodically in accordance with technological developments and international academic ethics standards.
